Pets - Chris

As I've been sifting through my photos I've realised how many animal shots I've taken.

The RSPCA in Brisbane has a programme where families can temporarily foster young puppies and kittens to take care of them during their first developing weeks. It takes a load off the carers at the RSPCA as baby animals require a fair amount of time and attention.

I'm devoting today and tomorrow's posts to some of the photos I've taken of the little critters.

Milly's Precious Bone
1/320sec at f.4.5, ISO 100, 300mm zoom, Aperture priority

Brother & Sister
1/60sec at f.5, ISO 250, 60mm zoom, Aperture priority, fill flash

Sally Chewing
1/30sec at f.5, ISO 100, 28mm zoom, Aperture priority, flash bounced from left to right

Time for a cat nap
1/50sec at f.4, ISO 200, 170mm zoom, Manual mode, fill flash

Animals can portray just as much emotion, humour and spontaneity as humans (sometimes more), and they're always happy to show off for the camera.

If you've taken any shots of your pets (and I'm sure you have), please post them up here on PicMad. There will be no judgements, just helpful discussion.

Fantastic shots. Black and brown kelpies have to be my favourite dogs. Especially the ones with little brown spots above their eyes!

My favourite pic is the one of Milly. She looks so content with her most precious belonging (her bone) next to her surveying her domain. I like the way she is in focus... just like her mind. Good photo

Thanks Harry, we were trying to figure out what the other half of Sally's genes were. We knew she was part rottweiler but you nailed it -- she's also half Kelpie! Cheers.

G-Dad -- thanks, I really like that shot too. Milly loved that bone. I also took a few shots of her with the bone in her mouth but thought this one showed just how much she loved that thing.
